In September 2020, CIPÓ signed a public statement alongside 130 civil society organizations expressing concern regarding the veto of the Organisation of American States (OAS) Secretary General to the decision of the Inter-American Commission to renew its Executive Secretary, which raised concerns over a possible interferences in the autonomy and independence of the Commission. In the statement, we demand that there be investigation and resolution by the authorities and institutions involved in a rapid, serious and transparent manner.
