CIPÓ on Carta Capital: BRICS can (and should) do more for global climate agenda

In an article written for the Carta Capital magazine, Plataforma CIPÓ’s Maiara Folly, Alessandra Beber Castilho and Marília Closs examine the outcomes of the 15th BRICS Summit, which took place from August 22 to 24 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The final statement to come out of the event welcomes “the strengthening of cooperation and increasing investment in the supply chains for energy transitions and note the need [for the BRICS countries] to fully participate in the clean energy global value chain.”

Still, there is a long path ahead of the BRICS before they are able to achieve climate neutrality, argue the authors.
