CIPÓ at the G20
In December 2023, Brazil assumes the presidency of the G20, a group that brings together the world’s major economies to coordinate actions on global economic and financial issues, along with several topics such as climate change, global health crises, and digital transformation. Until the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Rio de Janeiro in November 2024, different Brazilian cities will host over a hundred official meetings involving ministers, diplomats, international organizations, and authorities from member countries. In other words, decisions with potential global impact will be made on Brazilian soil. Given this, it’s crucial for Brazilian society, including social movements, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), research institutes, academia, the private sector, and lawmakers, among others, to find ways to discuss and influence the G20’s agenda.
In this context, over the coming months, Plataforma CIPÓ will work to strengthen and deepen the civil society’s discussion in Brazil and worldwide regarding the G20. CIPÓ will be responsible for research, publications, events, and other engagement activities on this topic.
