Researchers from CIPÓ are among the authors of a book on the Brazil-China relationship

The founders of Plataforma CIPÓ, Adriana Erthal Abdenur, and Maiara Folly, along with researcher João Cumarú, are among the authors of the book “How China is Transforming Brazil, which addresses the economic and political relations between China and Brazil.

The book was published by Palgrave Macmillan and edited by Mariana Hase Ueta, Mathias Alencastro, and Rosana Pinheiro-Machado.

Abdenur, Folly, and Maurício Santoro’s chapter analyses Chinese railway investments in Brazil, exploring the socio-environmental implications of such investments for the Amazon and Cerrado biomes.

Meanwhile, Cumarú’s chapter addresses the Sino-Brazilian cooperation in the energy sector.
