On August 10th, 2021, Plataforma CIPÓ co-sponsored the informal dialogue “Countdown to Our Common Agenda: Taking Forward the UN75 Declaration” in partnership with the Coalition for the UN We Need, Club de Madrid, Group of Women Leaders for Change & Inclusion, Together First, Baha’i International Community, We The Peoples Campaign, CIVICUS, Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung New York Office, and the Stimson Center.
The discussion brought together representatives from UN Missions, the Office of the UN General Assembly, and civil society organizations to discuss practical ways to promote consultations and innovative action campaigns related to the UN75 Declaration, benefits of a potential new Group of Friends for taking forward the UN75 Declaration and Our Common Agenda recommendations, as well as possible modalities for initiating a follow-on, dedicated intergovernmental process to strengthen and reform the institutional machinery of the UN system and, by doing so, to fulfill the promise of the UN75 Declaration.
