On September 20th, in New York, Plataforma CIPÓ and Instituto Decodifica will host the roundtable “Promoting Racial Representation in Global Decision-Making: The Role of the UN.”
The event will take place from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. (ET), on the sidelines of the Summit of the Future and the High-Level Week of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The event will be conducted in Portuguese and English, with simultaneous translation provided.
The roundtable aims to promote a debate on the current state of racial representation in global governance, with a particular emphasis on the challenges and opportunities regarding the United Nations.
This event also marks the launch of the policy brief “Uncovering Blind Spots: Racial Equality and Representation in the UN System”, Blue Smoke’s latest publication on representation and racial equality within the UN.
