On June 8, 2022, CIPÓ, represented by junior researcher Luísa Falcão, participated in the 1st Plenary of 2022 of the Climate, Forests and Agriculture Coalition. On the occasion, there was a presentation of the results of the 14 Task Forces dedicated to the topic of green finance, the Forest Code, bioeconomy and forestry of native species, in addition to the results of the internal Dialogue Forums.
In addition, there was a roundtable on the topic “How to develop without deforesting? Strengthen agri-environmental agenda in elections“, which had as debaters Suely Araújo (Climate Observatory), Paulo Hartung (Ibá), Gabriel Lui (Climate and Society Institute) and Bruno Carazza (Valor Econômico). The debate addressed issues such as employment and income for the Amazon region, the role of young people in this year’s elections, the domestic economy focused on environmental issues, among other topics.
