The Global South Policy Dialogue 2024 summary report is now available, summarizing the main findings and recommendations from the event held on October 3–4, 2024, at the National History Museum in Rio de Janeiro.
Organized by Plataforma CIPÓ in partnership with the Instituto Clima e Sociedade (iCS), the Global Challenges Foundation, the City of Rio de Janeiro, and the Global Governance Innovation Network (GGIN), the event brought together over 80 representatives from governments, parliaments, academic institutions, think tanks, and civil society organizations from G20 countries.
Discussions focused on the priorities of Brazil’s G20 presidency, emphasizing the need for ambitious climate action and reducing global inequalities. Recommendations included reforming multilateral institutions such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, as well as mobilizing resources to promote a just and resilient transition in the Global South.
