The National Symposium on Socio-Environmental Justice “Ecological crisis, peoples and nature”, organized by the Hugo Simas Academic Center (CAHS) and the Center for Research and Extension in Socio-Environmental Law (EKOA), with the support of the Direction of the Faculty of Law of the Federal University of Paraná and the Law Graduate Program at the Federal University of Paraná, brought together researchers in five Working Groups to discuss topics related to socio-environmental justice.
CIPÓ researcher Gabrielle Alves presented the work “Socio-Environmental Justice and The Brazilian Becoming-Black: Racisms, Spatialities and the Affirmation For Planetary Rights”, co-authored with doctoral student Rafael Aguiar, in Working Group 5: Environmental Racism, Ethnicity and Migration in the debate on socio-environmental justice. The work received an honorable mention and will be published soon.
