Plataforma CIPÓ was present at the launch of the 9th edition of the Civil Society Spotlight Report on the 2030 Agenda, held on Tuesday, September 30, at the Presidency of the Republic Auditorium in Brasília. The event was promoted by the Civil Society Working Group for the 2030 Agenda, with support from the Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Republic and several other organizations.
Nesta edição, que celebra os dez anos da Agenda 2030, o relatório apresenta um panorama detalhado da implementação dos 17 Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS) no Brasil e reúne 160 recomendações para o fortalecimento de políticas públicas no país. A CIPÓ foi uma das instituições que contribuiu com a produção do material.
Mariana Rondon, CIPÓ’s Program Director, represented the organization and highlighted the relevance of the document in the current national and international context:
“We are approaching COP30, and the spotlight will be on not only the Amazon but also Brazil. This is a great opportunity to make it a two-way street: on one hand, to contribute to strengthening multilateralism and democracy and give visibility to Brazil’s climate actions; on the other, to seize this moment to reinforce our domestic public policies. The Spotlight Report plays an important role, not only by providing data, science, and evidence, but also by raising awareness and calling for action, we no longer have time to waste.”
The event, also broadcast online, featured participation from experts and high-level representatives, who emphasized the importance of civil society in building strategies to accelerate the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.
