The Campaign to Stop Killer Robots, of which Plataforma CIPÓ is a member, calls for an international treaty to ban lethal autonomous weapons systems, which could kill without human supervision.
These technologies threaten a range of human rights, including the right to protest, the right to life, and the prohibition of torture and other degrading treatments. These ‘killer robots’ could be used in conflict zones, by police forces and in border control. We cannot allow machines to make decisions about life and death.
