CIPÓ researcher Marília Closs gave an interview to Jornal do Brasil, for a piece that was also published by Sputnik News.
The article highlights the speech given at COP27 by President-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who packed two large auditoriums at the Conference venue in Sharm el-Sheikh to announce a new, climate-focused foreign policy.
Closs also commented on significance of Lula’s comeback to the Brazilian government:
The world’s eyes are really turned towards Lula now. He is one of the world’s most important icons, not just because he is a highly relevant policy icon, but also because his comeback means the comeback of the Brazilian Foreign Policy and the construction of a new environmental and climate policy.
