Parliamentary Mission to Washington Resonates Across National and International Media

The recent Brazilian parliamentary mission to Washington, D.C. achieved significant public visibility, securing over 15 mentions across both national and international media outlets. This extensive press coverage reflects the urgency and strategic relevance of the agendas brought to the U.S. capital, further consolidating Plataforma CIPÓ’s role in driving international debates.

The media coverage was highly prominent in leading newspapers and major news channels. The delegation’s agenda was featured in top-tier outlets such as Folha de S.Paulo, Estadão, CNN Brasil, Poder360, SBT News, and UOL, alongside institutional portals, news agencies, and independent media.

The delegation—which brought Federal Deputies Jandira Feghali (PCdoB-RJ), André Janones (REDE-MG), Pedro Campos (PSB-PE), and Pedro Uczai (PT-SC) to the United States—was co-organized by Plataforma CIPÓ in partnership with the Washington Brazil Office (WBO), the Washington Office on Latin America (WOLA), Amazon Watch, and the Center for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR).

The central focus of the reporting revolved around bilateral cooperation in defense of democracy, digital regulation, public safety, and combating environmental crimes. Anchored by statements from CIPÓ’s Executive Director, Maiara Folly, the tone of the discussions was firmly grounded in “mutual respect for sovereignty.” Ultimately, this high volume of media coverage underscores the strong public interest in the parliamentary diplomacy and international cooperation agenda championed by the organization.
