Today (16/5), Plataforma CIPÓ took part in the “T20-C20 Convergence Dialogues” event, hosted by the BRICS Policy Center in Rio de Janeiro. The gathering is part of an ongoing effort to promote dialogue and foster synergies between the engagement groups of think tanks (T20) and civil society (C20) within the G20.
The Programme Director, Mariana Rondon, the Research Coordinator, Beatriz Mattos, and the researchers Vitória Gonzalez and Vinicius Lopes represented the T20 Task Force 2 – co-led by CIPÓ and the IDDRI, a French organization.
The synergies between T20 Task Force 2 and the C20 Working Group 3 revolve around four thematic axes: just energy transition, climate ambition, climate justice, and climate finance.
The day’s agenda was divided into bilateral dialogues on three specific thematic agendas (reforming financial architecture, environment and climate action, and digitization and technology) between T20 task forces and C20 working groups, a general plenary session for presenting recommendations, and a final session to consider the joint statement of the two engagement groups, their strategic communication, and next steps.
