On the 4th of February, Maiara Folly, CIPÓ’s Programme Director, gave an interview to CNN Brasil. Folly commented that, in her view, the diplomatic boycott of Western countries such as the US and UK to the Winter Olympic Games is not exclusively related to human rights concerns, which are legitimate. It is also, in part, associated with the need for greater foreign policy assertiveness in light of the crises that leaders of such countries are facing domestically.
