The website ((o))eco published, on the September 15th, the article “Politicians from MT and RO form caucus financed by environmental offenders” with references to the strategic report of Plataforma CIPÓ “Money, power and laws: campaign financing for environmental offenders in the Legal Amazon and legislative proposals in the National Congress”.
“Research shows that candidates from the Legal Amazon do not refuse financial resources for their election campaigns from individuals or companies that respond to lawsuits for environmental crimes. According to CIPÓ’s research, within the Legal Amazon, politicians from Mato Grosso and Rondônia are among those who received the most donations from environmental offenders.”
