CIPÓ researcher, Marília Closs, spoke to the Mexican newspaper Inter Press Service (IPS)

During the preparations for the Climate Conference (COP27 – Egypt), Plataforma CIPÓ’s researcher Marília Closs spoke to the Mexican newspaper Inter Press service (IPS).

In the article, the specialist talked about the anti-environmental politics of the current Bolsonaro government, recording a setback with the increase of deforestation, of the pollutant gas emissions, of the gas and oil exploration.

What’s been happening in Brazil is the impact of an anti-environmental and climate-denier government. It can be seen in Amazon deforestation, main source of greenhouse gases.

Another topic was the perspectives about the presence of Brazil at the COP27 with the elected president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who promised to put the climate politics and Amazon defense first.
