Letter delivered by civil society to the COP30 Presidency resonates in the media

During the Pre-COP held in Brasília, civil society organizations drafted a document outlining six priority areas of recommendation for the success of COP30. The letter, the result of two days of discussions at the event “The Road to Belém: Contributions from Civil Society,” received coverage from several media outlets, including Agência Brasil, Brasil de Fato, and Observatório do Clima. In addition, the document was presented to and well received by the COP30 Presidency, represented by Executive Director Ana Toni and the Ambassador and President of the Conference, André Corrêa do Lago.

Among the key themes addressed in the document are climate finance, just transition, mitigation, adaptation, global governance, and civil society participation — areas considered strategic for advancing negotiations toward COP30, which will take place in Belém in 2025.
