The session, titled &#8220;<strong>Studying China\u2019s Global Influence: Infrastructure Projects and Conflict Mediation<\/strong>,&#8221; was part of a three-debate series on \u201cChina\u2019s Global Influence.&#8221;  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The panel featured two presenters. Adriana Abdenur, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Plataforma CIP\u00d3, spoke on socio-environmental aspects of Chinese investments in railway infrastructure projects in Brazil in light of ongoing geopolitical changes.  Yun Sun, Senior Fellow and Director of the China Program at the Stimson Center, Washington DC, presented on China\u2019s role in conflict mediation with cases from Myanmar and Afghanistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The closed-door, online seminar series \u201cChina\u2019s Global Influence\u201d is part of a research project at CSEP on \u201cChina\u2019s Influence in South Asia\u201d that is co-led by Dr. Constantino Xavier, Ambassador Shivshankar Menon and Prof. Jabin Jacob. It complements CSEP&#8217;s South Asia focus by showcasing comparative research about China\u2019s influence in other regions of the world.
