By March 21, 2022, the war in Ukraine had generated over 3 million refugees, especially women and children, according to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. In addition, it is estimated that millions of Ukrainian residents have been internally displaced. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maiara Folly, CIP\u00d3’s Programme Director, commented on the issue in an interview for MigraMundo, in which she highlighted the importance of a welcoming and collective responses to this refugee movement<\/strong> in order to avoid placing a disproportionate burden upon neighbouring countries and, as a result, provoke xenophobic reactions towards the new comers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
