In an article for Di\u00e1logo Chino<\/strong>, the co-founders of CIP\u00d3, Adriana Abdenur and Maiara Folly \u2014 in partnership with Maur\u00edcio Santoro, professor at the Department of International Relations at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) \u2014 write about the impacts of China-financed rail projects in the Brazilian Amazon.<\/strong> The analysis is based on a study<\/a> produced by Abdenur, Folly and Santoro for the Carnegie Endowment for Peace, which addresses plans related to the Ferrogr\u00e3o project and the main social and environmental tensions related to this railway line, which is designed to cross sections of the Amazon and the Cerrado to deliver commodities to Brazilian ports in the Amazon for export abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Chinese companies become involved in projects with high socio-environmental risks, such as Ferrogr\u00e3o, there will be increased pressure for greater dialogue with Brazilian actors<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
