Organized by Plataforma CIP\u00d3, the event gathered representatives from more than 20 countries, members of the COP30 Presidency, Brazilian authorities, international organizations, academia, and civil society to discuss the challenges of climate implementation and the future of multilateralism. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the theme \u201cFrom Commitment to Implementation: The Legacy of COP30 and Pathways to Strengthening Global Climate Governance,\u201d the event promoted discussions on climate finance, a just ecological transition, adaptation, trade and climate, combating deforestation, and the institutional mechanisms created following COP30. Throughout the program, participants also debated strategies to accelerate the implementation of climate agreements and strengthen international cooperation in the face of the climate crisis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting featured the participation of COP30 President Ambassador Andr\u00e9 Corr\u00eaa do Lago; federal congresswoman and former Minister of Indigenous Peoples Sonia Guajajara; representatives from the countries that will host the next climate conferences \u2014 Australia and T\u00fcrkiye, responsible for COP31, and Ethiopia, host of COP32 \u2014 as well as representatives from Brazil\u2019s Ministry of Finance, the Northeast Consortium, multilateral organizations, and civil society leaders.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the two days, the program included panels, strategic meetings, and working groups focused on implementing COP30 decisions and defining priorities for upcoming climate conferences. Discussions also addressed the so-called \u201croadmaps\u201d for phasing out fossil fuels, combating deforestation, and developing public policies aimed at a just and inclusive ecological transition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The debates reinforced the need to expand climate finance mechanisms, strengthen implementation capacity in Global South countries, and create new forms of coordination among governments, civil society, and international organizations to accelerate climate action in the coming years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event was organized by Plataforma CIP\u00d3 in partnership with the Government of Bahia, the Northeast Consortium, Instituto Clima e Sociedade (iCS), the Climate Emergency Collaboration Group, the Global Challenges Foundation, the French Embassy in Brazil, the Heinrich B\u00f6ll Foundation, and the Global Governance Innovation Network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Photos from the Global Policy Dialogue 2026 are already available, and in the coming weeks Plataforma CIP\u00d3 will continue publishing new photo and video coverage from the event.
