The objective is to ensure that subnational governments take on a more prominent role in the preparatory process by developing their own mobilization strategies and contributing concrete proposals to the conference. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants included Andr\u00e9 Corr\u00eaa do Lago and Ana Toni, COP30 President and Executive Director, respectively; Gustavo Ponce, Executive Secretary of the Secretariat for Institutional Relations (SRI) of the Presidency of the Republic; representatives from Centro Brasil no Clima (CBC); secretaries from interstate consortia; and Renato Casagrande, Governor of Esp\u00edrito Santo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plataforma CIP\u00d3 was represented by Murilo Amatneeks, the organization\u2019s Advocacy Coordinator, and is supporting the process alongside the Instituto Clima e Sociedade (iCS) and the CBC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting underscored the importance of coordination across different levels of government and the active inclusion of civil society in the process leading up to COP30, recognizing that the implementation of effective climate policies requires multilevel and cooperative governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-content-justification-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-buttons-is-layout-16018d1d wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/cop30.br\/en\">Learn more about COP30<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Wednesday, May 22, the COP30 Presidency met in Bras\u00edlia with representatives from state governments, civil society, and institutions engaged in the climate agenda to discuss the role of subnational actors in the lead-up to the conference, which will take place in November in Bel\u00e9m, Par\u00e1.
