The closed-door meeting, conducted under the Chatham House Rule, focused on the progress made by Brazil\u2019s G20 presidency on climate finance and sustainable development, with an emphasis on the Finance Track and Brazil\u2019s role in the lead-up to COP30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Organized by Brazil\u2019s Ministry of Finance, the European Climate Foundation and Plataforma CIP\u00d3\u2014with support from the Institute for Climate and Society (iCS) and the French Embassy\u2014the event aimed to strengthen dialogue between Brazil and Europe in building a fairer global financial system aligned with the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plataforma CIP\u00d3\u2019s Executive Director, Maiara Folly, moderated the second half of the meeting, which also featured Ambroise Fayolle, Vice-President of the European Investment Bank; economist Mariana Mazzucato; Tatiana Rosito, Brazil\u2019s Secretary for International Affairs at the Ministry of Finance; William Roos, Deputy Secretary of the French Treasury; and Rachel Kyte, the UK\u2019s Special Representative for Climate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CEO of the European Climate Foundation, Laurence Tubiana, opened and closed the event, alongside Pete Ogden, Vice President for Climate and Environment at the United Nations Foundation, and Lucca Rizzo, Climate Finance Lead at iCS.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Representatives from the Brazilian government, Europe, multilateral banks and civil society took part on Monday (22) in the 1st Brazil-Europe Climate Finance Dialogue, held in Washington, D.C., United States.
