He actively participated and contributed to the organization of strategic events, such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/plataformacipo.org\/en\/events\/global-policy-dialogue-addressing-the-triple-planetary-crisis-through-improved-global-governance\/\">Global South Policy Dialogue<\/a> &#8220;Tackling the Triple Planetary Crisis through Strengthening Global Governance,&#8221; held in Recife in 2023, the <a href=\"https:\/\/plataformacipo.org\/justica-climatica\/cipo-integra-organizacao-do-seminario-internacional-amazonia-sustentavel-em-belem\/\">international seminar<\/a> \u201cSustainable Amazon: Contributions from Social Sciences, Multilateralism, and Civil Society,\u201d held as part of the Amazon Dialogues, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/plataformacipo.org\/en\/publications\/cipo-and-atco-unite-multiple-voices-to-address-the-belem-declaration-implementation\/\">workshop<\/a> &#8220;International Cooperation for the Amazon: Paths to Implementing the Bel\u00e9m Declaration.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Throughout his career, Lazary has held prominent positions, including:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Head of the Political Sector at the Brazilian Embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Brazilian Trade Bureau Director at the Consulate General in Miami, USA<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Founder and Director of the Brazilian American Chamber of Commerce in Atlanta, Georgia\/USA<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Head of the Trade Promotion Operations Division at the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Itamaraty)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deputy Chief of Mission at the Brazilian Embassy in Washington, USA (C&amp;T and Environmental affairs)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Special Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic (2008-2011)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ambassador to Peru and Ecuador<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>His expertise will be instrumental in strengthening CIP\u00d3\u2019s work in promoting environmental, climate, and sustainable governance in the Amazon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-content-justification-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-buttons-is-layout-16018d1d wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/plataformacipo.org\/en\/mission-and-team\/\">Learn more about our team<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Plataforma CIP\u00d3 is honored to welcome Ambassador Carlos Alfredo Lazary Teixeira, former Executive Director of the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (ACTO), as our new Senior Fellow.
