In the document, the signatories advocate for a merit-based, open, and transparent selection process.<\/p>\n\n<p>The current managing director, Kristalina Georgieva, whose term ends on September 30, is the sole candidate proposed by the member states. Traditionally, European countries nominate the IMF managing director, while the United States selects the World Bank president.
