The second module of “The Paris Agreement on Climate Change as a Development Agenda” course, an initiative of the United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC) and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), addressed the social implications of the climate agenda.<\/p>\n\n
Maiara Folly, Executive Director of Plataforma CIP\u00d3, was one of the speakers. She, along with Natalia Galat, the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization’s Senior SDG Coordinator Officer, spoke about synergies between food security, climate change, and vulnerability.<\/p>\n\n
The speakers also emphasized the diverse impacts of climate change on livelihoods and the urgent need to include vulnerable groups in climate policy making.<\/p>\n\n
“If we are serious about preventing and addressing the social implications of climate change, we must scale up our efforts in adaptation and mitigation.
