According to researcher Jo\u00e3o Cumar\u00fa, who resides in the Asian country, the event discussed issues such as fund expansion, inclusion of new members, and the need to direct strategic investments to the Global South, with a focus on sustainable transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting was the first under the leadership of former President Dilma Rousseff, who now heads the international organization. In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ndb.int\/insights\/address-by-ndb-president-dilma-rousseff-at-opening-of-the-plenary-session-of-the-8th-annual-meeting-of-the-ndb\/\">her<\/a> opening speech, she emphasized the relevance of the NDB as a multilateral financial institution focused on sustainable development. She praised the role of the bank in financing infrastructure projects, renewable energy, and social inclusion initiatives in emerging countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finance Minister Fernando Haddad participated remotely.
