CIPÓ analyzes the role of Ibama in ECOA (UOL)

In an article published by Ecoa, from the news channel UOL, CIPÓ’s senior researcher, Dr. Flávia do Amaral Vieira explains the historical role of Brazil’s Environmental Agency (Ibama) in combating environmental crimes.

According to Vieira, one of the key challenges faced by Brazil’s new federal government relates to rebuilding and enhancing Ibama’s ability to effectively carry out environmental monitoring activities, a task that “demands resources, expensive equipment and close collaboration with other environmental and law enforcement agencies.”
