Book chapter discusses new directions for Brazilian Foreign Policy and Climate

The book “Renascença: politica externa pós-bolsonarista” [Renaissance: foreign policy after Bolsonaro], edited by Diplomacy for Democracy, was released on Saturday, August 20th. In one of the chapters, Plataforma CIPÓ Directors Adriana Abdenur and Maiara Folly note paths forward for Brazilian Foreign Policy in climate and environment when Brazil has a new government. The launch took place at the Taperá Taperá bookstore in São Paulo.

The chapter , titled “A new Brazilian foreign policy for climate and the environment,” presents concrete and research-based possibilities in the areas of international cooperation, climate and environmental justice, international peace and security, and other areas.

For the authors, it is possible to revitalize Brazil’s international role, including in South-South cooperation, in the coming years by developing an innovative and progressive foreign policy in the area of Climate and Environment.

The book is part of a collection of two edited volumes — Renaissance: foreign policy after Bolsonaro and Democracy and Diplomacy — which gathers 43 articles that address diagnoses and proposals on Brazil’s foreign policy. In addition to the physical format, the books will be available for free in digital format.
